Meet the 2021 Children’s Friendship Award Winners

This year’s winners are:
North Providence Mayor Charles and Mrs. Lombardi have a long history of supporting organizations that help children. First elected in 2007, Mayor Lombardi has offered his annual Mayor Lombardi Holiday Charitable Fund party each year as a fundraiser for local agencies. More than $200,000 has been raised and distributed to organizations such as St. Mary’s Home for Children, Tri County Community Action, Wreaths Across America, Fogarty Center, and Friends Way. These annual funds have supported actions such as helping children overcome the death of a loved one, providing residential and outpatient mental health services to children, and providing special education services to children. Since 2017, Mayor Lombardi has also been a member of the Board of Directors for St. Mary’s.
James Paolino, an attorney licensed in Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and Connecticut, is founder and owner of RES/Title, Inc., one of the largest privately owned national Title companies in the country, licensed in 41 states. Mr. Paolino spent many years assisting St. Mary’s Home for Children as a Board of Directors member (2012-2019) and Development Committee member (2007-2020). Mr. Paolino provided his own staff to help St. Mary’s modernize and redesign its website and oversaw the growth of St. Mary’s Development Office to increase financial support and public relations for the agency. Mr. Paolino graduated from LaSalle Academy, Boston College, and Suffolk Law school and also served on the East Greenwich Planning Board (1993-2006), serving as Chairman from 2002-2006.
