2021 Holiday Giving Program

To make an in-kind donation, please read the letter below for details.

Dear Supporters.

We are fast approaching the holiday season when we can count our many blessings that come in the form of family, food, and fun. But for the children we serve, those blessings can be harder to find.

For a child who has suffered sexual abuse, a child who has emotional issues and cannot focus on school, or a child that needs a temporary place to live – the holidays can be a time of sadness and loneliness as they face the difficulties life has given them. But you can help to alleviate that pain by donating gifts that will help raise the spirits of the children and families we serve!

There are multiple ways to participate in bringing blessings to these children by purchasing items from the following wish lists:

  • Residential Houses/Classrooms Wish Lists
  • Youth Wish Lists or through Tree Tags, which list items desired by children
  • Holiday Wish List, which is attached for inspiration

In order to give our elves time to sort and wrap all of the presents, the last day we can accept items will be December 15, 2021 – so please plan your giving to occur before this date.

To let us know that you’d like to participate in this year’s Holiday Giving Program, contact Ashley Stetson, Development Coordinator, at astetson@smhfc.org or 401-353-3900 x 280. She can provide you with additional information you may require.

Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, we will need to set up a specific time and date for each donation delivery of unwrapped gifts, which can be arranged with Ashley as well. This is to ensure the health and safety of you, our staff, and our clients.

Last year, despite the pandemic, we were able to raise $40,800 in in-kind gifts and $9,000 in gift cards. Thank you for your incredible generosity! It made a huge difference in the lives of many children as we are able to spread the gifts throughout the year. In order to serve every child in need going forward, we’d love to beat last year’s holiday gift-giving levels.

At the same time, we know that many have been hard hit by the pandemic so we ask because we have families in need but understand that everyone will make their own decision on how much to give. Keep in mind that any donation, of any size and type, will help make the season brighter for the children we serve.

Thank you for your support and we can’t wait to work with you to bring more blessings to the world. See below this letter for our in-kind giving suggestions.
