St. Mary’s Home for Children has five residential houses for children.

They each have their own names. Here is how Harding House got its name: Flora-Hilda Nichols Harding came to work in the infant Ward and the Elementary Unit beginning in 1937.

She loved her work so much that she published a small book of poetry based on her experiences. Mrs. Harding always kept St. Mary’s in her heart, maintaining contact with the agency until her death at age 99 in 1994 and leaving her estate to St. Mary’s.
